KIT TFT Phd students present latest research at international Sodium Ion Battery Symposium (SBS) in Berlin

23.09 - 25.09.2024, Berlin, Germany

It was a pleasure for us to be given the opportunity to present at the international 5th Sodium Ion Battery Symposium in Berlin our latest research on the topic addressed processing of sodium-ion battery electrodes as well as humidity management for sodium-ion Cathode active Materials (CAM) .

Philipp Barbig showed on the poster “Humidity Management for active materials in Sodium-Ion and Lithium-Ion Batteries” (Authors: Barbig, Heckmann, Scharfer, Schabel)  the crucial need for controlling the humidity for processing of SIB electrodes.

David Burger, Phd student from the POLIS – cluster of Excellence (Link zu Polis) presented with the poster “Structural Optimization for Drying of Sodium-Ion-Battery (SIB) electrodes” (Authors: Burger, Klemens, Scharfer, Schabel)  opportunities to improve battery electrodes by using simultaneous multilayer coating pushing the limitations in electrode drying.

Thanks to the conference chair from Helmholtz Center Berlin as well as the SIB community for fruitful discussions and addressing the current needs in the SIB technology and for Cluster of Excellence  POLIS .
