Professor Wilhelm Schabel von der Forschungsgruppe „Thin Film Technology“ am KIT wurde in der Kategorie „Berufungen in Wissenschafts- und Beratungsgremien“ zur Wahl zum Präsidenten der „European Coating Society“ im September 2023 vom neuen KIT Präsident Professor Jan S. Hesthaven geehrt.

The ISCST's Ed Cohen Travel Award was granted to David Burger and Philipp Quarz, PhD students from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) - Thin Film Technology, to present their research at the 22nd International Coating Science and Technology Symposium (ISCST), held from September 8-11, 2024, in Atlanta, USA. The ISCST is a leading international conference in the field of Coating Science & Technology.

Im Juli besuchte Professor Alex Routh von der University of Cambridge, Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, Institute for Energy and Environmental Flows, die TFT im Rahmen eines zweiwöchigen Forschungsaufenthaltes am KIT.

The prestigious John A. Tallmadge Award in Coating Technology is awarded to Professor Wilhelm Schabel from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The Tallmadge Award recognizes an individual's significant contributions to coating technology and science. The prize is awarded every two years by the International Society of Coating Science and Technology (ISCST) and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE) to outstanding international personalities.

A great success of this year's 15th short course "Coating and Drying of Thin Films“ and 8th “Thin Film Technology Forum”.

It was, again, full house in 2024! In the Short Course as well as the Forum we had nationally and internationally most renowned scientists and speakers as instructors in front of an audience from mostly European countries!

Both events took place from June 3rd – 7th 2024.

The TFT group from KIT contributed to its success with a talk and a poster about their research.

The award for the best poster at this annual meeting was granted to Kevin Ly from the Thin Film Technology (TFT) group of KIT. Congratulations!
